Today in class we went over 5.3 Properties of Logarithms. Students learned 4 rules in addition to the definition of a logarithm.
Assignment: p. 221 #(1-5)eol Today in class we finished 5.2 Introduction to Logarithms. We talked about restrictions on logarithms, graphing logarithms, and finding inverse functions.
Assignment: p. 211 #(1-5)eol, 8, 12, 13 Students also completed an assignment on the definition of a logarithm. Today in class we introduced the concept of a logarithm from section 5.2. The definition was given and we practiced converting from exponential form to logarithmic form.
Assignment: p. 211 #(1-4)eol Today in class we finished 5.1 Applications of Exponential Functions.
Assignment: p. 206 #9 As well students were given an Exponential Functions Assignment. Today in class we continued 5.1 Graphing Exponential Functions. We used the formula from chapter 2 to transform a point on the graph y=f(x).
Assignment: #3-6 Today in class students studied for their Ch. 4 Radical and Rational Functions Test which will be written tomorrow.
Today in class students wrote a Graphing Rational Functions Quiz. As well, students were given a Chapter 4 Radical and Rational Function practice test to work on. The Ch. 4 Test will be written on Tuesday.
Today in class we finished 4.4 Graphing Rational Functions. We talked about why there are holes in graphs and why there are asymptotes.
