Assignment: p. 262 #1ace, 2aei, 3ace, 4ace, 5ace, 6ace, 12
Today we went over 6.2 Trigonometric Ratios. We reviewed finding trig ratios for angles in standard position. We also introduced the reciprocal trig identities.
Assignment: p. 262 #1ace, 2aei, 3ace, 4ace, 5ace, 6ace, 12 Today we went over 6.1 Trigonometric Functions. We reviewed how to draw an angle in standard position and the various vocabulary associated with angles in standard position. We also introduced radians as an alternative way of measuring angles. We used radians to develop a formula for the arclength of a circle.
Assignment: p. 255 #(1, 4-7) every other letter, 8abcd, 9, 10 Students wrote their Ch. 5 Exponential and Logarithmic Functions Test today.
Today students did an Exponential and Logarithmic Functions practice test. The Ch. 5 Exponential and Logarithmic Functions Test is being written on Monday November 28.
Today students had time in class to review for their Ch. 5 Exponential and Logarithmic Functions Test.
Today students reviewed for their Ch. 5 Logarithms Test by doing questions from 5.6 Chapter Review.
Assignment: p. 238 #1-65 Today we went over 5.5 Applications of Exponential Functions. This section is a review of Growth and Decay problems we saw in 5.1 Exponents but now we are able to solve the equation when the variable is in the exponent.
Assignment: p. 236 #1-11 Students were also given a Solving Exponential and Logarithmic Equations Assignment to complete and hand in. Today we went over 5.4 Solving Exponential and Logarithmic Equations.
Assignment: p. 227 #1acegi, 2acef, 3ac, 4 Today students worked through several questions using the properties of logarithms to simplify, evaluate, or find restrictions on logarithmic expressions. Students were also given a Properties of Logarithms Quiz to complete and hand in. No other homework was given.
Today we went over 5.3 Properties of Logarithms. We learned four very useful properties of logarithms to help us simplify logarithmic expressions and to solve exponential and logarithmic equations.
