Assignment: p. 150 #1-50
Today we went over the Ch. 3 Polynomials Test outline. The test will be written in the first week after spring break. Students then worked on 3.6 Chapter Review questions.
Assignment: p. 150 #1-50 Today students had time to work on their unfinished workbook assignments. They were also given a Graphing Polynomial Functions Assignment to complete and hand in.
Today we went over 3.2 Graphing Polynomial Functions. We used the properties of polynomial functions from yesterday to draw reasonably accurate graphs of polynomial functions.
Assignment: p. 127 #1ace, 2, 3, 4cgi, 5, 7 Today we went over 3.1 Properties of Polynomial Functions. We discussed how many intercepts to expect, how many critical points to expect, end behaviour of the graph, and multiplicity of the roots.
Assignment: p. 119 #1-7, 9 every other letter Today we went over 3.5 Applications of Polynomial Functions.
Assignment: p. 148 #1, 3-5, 8, 9 Today we went over 3.4 The Remainder and Factor Theorem. We looked at how the Factor Theorem and Rational Root Theorem can be used to find the x-intercepts of a polynomial function.
Assignment: p. 143 #1ab, 2acgh, 3, 4a-e, 5 Today we went over 3.3 Polynomial Division. We looked at using long division to divide a polynomial by another polynomial and synthetic division to divide a polynomial by a binomial.
