Assignment: p. 289 #2, 4, 5, 8 - 11
Students also received a Modelling Real Situations Using Trig Functions worksheet, a Trig Functions Quiz, and a Ch. 6 Practice Test to work on.
Today in class we went over 6.5 Applications of Trig Functions.
Assignment: p. 289 #2, 4, 5, 8 - 11 Students also received a Modelling Real Situations Using Trig Functions worksheet, a Trig Functions Quiz, and a Ch. 6 Practice Test to work on. Today in class we went over 6.4 Graphing Trigonometric Functions. Students learned the vocabulary to describe a trig function, a method for graphing sine and cosine graphs, and how to determine the equation of a sinusoidal graph.
Assignment: p. 284 #1, 3 - 10 Students were also given a Graphing Trigonometric Functions Worksheet to complete and hand in. Today in class we went over 6.3 Exact Values of Trig Ratios. Much of this sections reviews concepts from Pre-Calculus 11, however we have introduced 3 new ratios and radian measures of angles.
Assignment: p. 273 #1 abkl, 2 - 6, 7 acegi, 11 Students were also given a Angles in Standard Position Worksheet to complete. Today in class we went over 6.2 Trigonometric Ratios. Much of this was a review from last year but we did introduce the Reciprocal Trig Identities.
Assignment: p. 262 #(1 - 3, 5, 6) ace, 12 In the second half of class students wrote their Ch. 5 Exponential and Logarithmic Functions Test. Today we started class by reviewing material from chapter 5. Students worked on their review assignments and 5.6 Chapter Review.
Assignment: p. 238 #1 - 65 The Ch. 5 Exponential and Logarithmic Functions Test is being written on Monday. In the second half of class, we went over 6.1 Trigonometric Functions. This sectioned reviewed Angles in Standard Position. We also introduced the concept of radian angle measures which included a formula for the arclength of a circle. Assignment: p. 255 #(1, 4 - 6) every other letter, 7 - 10 Today in class we went over 5.5 Applications of Exponential Functions.
Assignment: p. 236 #1, 2, 4 - 6, 10 , 11 Students were also given a Word Problem Assignment to be completed and handed in as well as a Ch. 5 Practice Test and an Exponents and Logarithms Review Assignment. Today in class we went over 5.4 Solving Exponential and Logarithmic Equations.
Assignment: p. 227 #(1 - 3) every other letter, 4 Students were also given a Properties of Logarithms Worksheet and a Solving Equations Worksheet. Today in class we went over 5.2 Logarithms and their Graphs and 5.3 Properties of Logarithms. We learned how to convert an exponential equation into a logarithmic equation and vice versa, and the 4 most important logarithm properties. We also graphed a logarithmic function by comparing it to an exponential function.
Assignment: p. 211 #1 - 4, 5 ac, 6, 7, 11 - 13 p. 221 #(1 - 5) every other letter Today in class we finished our notes on 5.1 Exponential Functions by looking at compound interest, exponential growth/decay, and continuous growth/decay scenarios.
Assignment: p. 203 #1 - 5, 9 plus an Exponential Functions Worksheet. In the second half of class, students wrote their Ch. 4 Radical and Rational Functions Test. Today in class we went over 5.1 Exponential Functions. This section covered: a review of the exponent laws, solving exponential equations, graphing exponential functions, and solving word problems using exponential growth and decay.
Assignment: p. 203 #1 - 5, 9 The Ch. 4 Radical and Rational Functions Test is being written tomorrow. |
