3.7 Review
Students continued reviewing factoring and multiplying polynomials in preparation for the test on Friday. Assignment: p. 161-165 #1-8 3.7 Chapter Review
Students worked on Factoring Synthesis, a sheet with mixed factoring questions. As well, students worked on a chapter review in preparation for the Chapter Test Friday. Assignment: p. 161-165 #1-8 odd 3.6 Special Factors
We did examples of factoring a difference of squares and a perfect square trinomial. The Unit Test will be on Thursday. Assignment: p. 156-160 #1-3, 4-5odd, 6-7ace, 8acde, 9ac Factoring Review
Today we spent the class reviewing the concept of factoring polynomials. We did many examples together on the board. No new work was assigned. Today for class students wrote a quiz on factoring a common factor and multiplying polynomials. The rest of the period students had the opportunity to catch up on homework or do corrections on the previous unit test. No new assignments were given.
3.5 Factoring ax^2+bx+c
Today we went over the concept of factoring trinimials with a leading coefficient other than one. We used a guess and check method and the Box Method version of decomposition. Assignment: p. 151-154 #1-3, 4-5odd, 6a, 7, 8 3.4 Factoring Trinomials x^2+bx+c
Today we looked at factoring trinomials by refering to expanding binomials. Assignment: p. 142-147 #1-5, 6-11odd, 12, 14 3.3 Factoring a Common Factor
Today we discussed factoring, which is the inverse of expanding. We did examples of how to factor a common factor from a polynomial. Assignment: p. 135-138 #1-6odd, 7-10 |
