Today in class students worked on their assignments in preparation for their next chapter test. We also went over the test outline. Some students worked on a challenge problem after they were fully prepared for the test. No new work was assigned.
Today in class, students worked on a review assignment covering chapter 3, 4.1, 4.2, and 5.5.
Today in class, students worked on a Rate of Change Worksheet. No additional homework was assigned.
Today in class we started with a Slope Worksheet that students should complete and hand in. Next we went over 4.2 Rate of Change. We saw that rate and slope are fundamentally the same. We used this idea to calculate the rate and draw graphs.
Assignment: p. 163 #2 - 6, 15 Today in class we went over 4.1 Slope. We reviewed how to find the slope of a line using a graph and the definition rise over run and using 2 points with the formula.
Assignment: p. 156 #1 - 4, 5 acegi, 10 Today in class we went over 3.4 Non-Linear Equations. We used a table of values to graph relations that were not straight lines.
Assignment: p. 141 #1 acfgkmp Students were also given a Graphing Relations Worksheet to be handed in next class. Today we started class by doing a Function Notation Worksheet. We then went on to 3.3 Linear Equations. We looked at 2 forms of a Linear Equation - Standard Form and Slope Y-Intercept - and used a table of values to graph a few linear equations.
Assignment: p. 133 #1, 2, 3 ace, 4 abcdghkl, 7, 9 Today in class we went over 5.5 Function Notation to build on our knowledge of functions.
Assignment: p. 220 #1, 2 abcd, 3 abcd, 4, 7 a, 8 c, 9 a, 11, 12, 15 Today in class we went over 3.2 Functions. Students learned what a function is and how to recognize a function from its graph.
Assignment: p. 123 #3, 6 - 8, 10, 14 Today in class we finished off the examples from 3.1 Relations by finding the domain and range of a few relations using words, a number line, set notation, and interval notation.
Assignment: p. 116 #1 - 3, (7 - 9) every other letter, 10 and a Domain and Range Worksheet. |
