Students wrote a quiz on material from 3.1 Angles in Standard Position and 3.2 Primary Trig Ratios. Next, we discussed how some angles are common in trigonometry applications. The trig. ratios for these angles can be determined exactly, and are usually referred to as the Special Angles. Next class, we will extend these angles to include all angles whose reference angle is 0, 30, 45, 60, or 90 degrees. No new assignment was given.

Today we discussed how to use Standard Position angles to calculate the primary trig. ratios of angles of any size. Assignment: p. 114 #1-6 eol, 7a, 8c 3.1 Angles in Standard Position
Today we reviewed the coordinate grid. We talked about how an angle can be defined using the coordinate grid. We went over the vocabulary associated with angles in standard position. Assignment: p. 105 #1-10 eol Ch. 3 Primary Trig. Ratios
Today we reviewed the primary trig. ratios. Students completed a worksheet on solving right angled triangles. Ch. 2 Test
Students wrote the Ch. 2 Rational Expressions Test today. We will do 2.6 Applications of Rational Expressions after students return from spring break. Ch. 2 Review
Students worked on the Ch. 2 Review #1-6 p. 94, the pretest, and the content organizer questions in preparation for the Ch. 2 Rational Expressions Test tomorrow. 2.7 Rational Expression Review
Students worked on chapter review questions, the Ch. 2 PreTest, and/or the Content Organizer in preparation for the Chapter 2 Test tomorrow. Ch. 2 Review
Students wrote a quiz on arithmetic operations with rational expressions. Students then worked on 2.5 Solving Equations p. 81 #(2-6) sample; Ch. 2 PreTest; and 2.7 Ch. 2 Review p. 94 #(1-6) sample. The Ch. 2 Rational Expressions Test is on Thursday. 2.5 Solving Rational Equations
Students went over examples of solving equations with rational expressions. We discussed finding restrictions and multiplying through with a common denominator. Students were told they must check for extraneous roots everytime. Assignment: p. 81 #(2-6) sample 2.4 Mixed Operations on Rational Expressions
Students were given class time to work on simplifying expressions involving RE and mixed arithmetic operations (+, -, x, /). The Ch. 2 Rational Expression Test will be on Thursday. Assignment: p. 66 #(1-4) sample; 5, 11 p. 74 #(1,2) sample |
