Students worked on questions from the review package to prepare for the Final Exam. Period 2 Exam is on Wed. June 19 and Period 3 Exam is on Tues. June 18. 8.6 Chapter Review
Today we looked at some word problems that can be solved using sequences and series. The Ch. 8 Sequences and Series Test is Wednesday. Assignment: p. 376 #1-53 8.4/8.5 Geometric Series
Today we looked at geometric series. A formula was used to find the sum of geometric series. It was discussed how to determine if an infinite geometric series has a sum or not. Assignment: p. 364 #1-4 odds, 5, 7, 11, 14, 16 p. 371 #1-5 odds, 7, 9, 11, 15, 19 8.3 Geometric Sequences
Today we looked at sequences whose terms are derived by multiplying the previous term by a constant, i.e. a geometric sequence. Assignment: p. 358 #1-4 odds, 9, 15-17 8.2 Arithmetic Series
Today we extended the idea of sequences to include series. We developed a formula to solve for the sum of a series. We also used sigma notation to write a series in a more compact form. Assignment: p. 352 #1-4 odds, 7, 11 8.1 Arithmetic Sequences
Today we looked at sequences and the terminology associated with them. We discussed recursive and general definitions to study arithmetic sequences. As well, we looked at sigma notation as a preview of arithmetic series. Assignment: p. 345 # 2-11 odds, 14, 16 |
