Have a wonderful Christmas break.
Today in class we went over an overview for the Ch. 7 Trigonometry test which will be written on Tue. Jan. 7.
Have a wonderful Christmas break. Today in class students were given time to complete their chapter 8 trigonometry assignments.
Today in class students solved various types of triangles.
Assignment: 7.6 p. 302 #2, 6, 8 a - g As well students did a worksheet on Solving Triangles. Today in class we went over how to determine the number of solutions of a triangle given various information including the ambiguous case. Students then worked on Solving Triangles - The Law of Sines.
Today in class we started 7.6 The Law of Cosines by deriving the Law of Cosines formula. Students worked on a Law of Cosines Worksheet to solidy their ability to use the formula.
Assignment: p. 306 #9 - 12 Today in class we discussed 7.5 The Law of Sines. We derived the formula and used it to solve for an angle or side in an oblique triangle. Students demonstrated their undertanding by doing a Sine Law Worksheet that was marked in class.
Assignment: p. 298 #7 - 10 Today in class students wrote a Special Angles Quiz. Afterwards students had a chance to work on 7.4 Obliques Triangles.
Today in class we went over 7.3 Special Angles. Much of this is a review from last year but having angles range from 0 to 360 degrees.
Assignment: p. 278 #(1 - 6) eol, 9, 10, 12 Today in class we looked at solving simple trig equations with the answer being between o and 360 degrees. Students learned that there is often 2 solutions. Students then worked on an Angles in Standard Position Quiz.
