Assignment: p. 179 #1, 2, 5ab, 6, 8, 9, 11-14
Today we went over a few more examples from 4.3 Applications of Quadratic Functions.
Assignment: p. 179 #1, 2, 5ab, 6, 8, 9, 11-14 Today students started class with a Graphing Parabolas in General Form Quiz. We then moved on to 4.3 Applications of Quadratic Functions. These problems are often referred to as Min/Max problems since the goal is usually to find a minimum or maximum value.
Assignment: p. 179 #1, 2, 5ab, 6, 8, 9, 11-14 Today we went over 4.2 Vertex of a Parabola. We used the process of Completing the Square on the General Form of a parabola to develop a formula for the vertex of a parabola.
Assignment: p. 170 #1, 3abcdfi, 4abd, 5abcf, 8 Today we went over 4.1 Completing the Square. This section covers how to change a quadratic function from General Form to Vertex Form.
Assignment: p. 162 #3a-e, 4abcdfgijk, 6acdfh Today we continued looking at examples from 3.5 Finding the Equation of a Parabola.
Assignment: p. 153 #1abcf, 2aeg, 3acd, 5, 6, 9 Students were also given a Finding the Equation of a Parabola Assignment to complete and hand in. Today students started class with a Graphing Parabolas in Standard Form Quiz. We then started 3.5 Equation of a Parabola which looks at finding the equation of a parabola given various information.
Assignment: p. 153 #1abcf, 2aeg, 3acd, 5, 6, 9 Today we went over 3.4 Graphing Quadratic Functions in Standard Form. We put all our transformations in a single equation and then stated the properties of the parabola and graphed it.
Assignment: p. 145 #2, 3abcd, 4abceh, 5a, 7abc, 8a, 9ad, 10 Today we went over 3.3 Graphing Horizontal Translations.
Assignment: p. 141 #1ab, 3abc, 4, 5, 7 Today we went over 3.2 Graphing Parabolas with Expansions, Compressions, and Reflections. We saw how changing the coefficient of the basic parabola caused the graph to vertically stretch, squish, or flip.
Assignment: p. 136 #1, 2acdef, 3, 4 Today we looked at 3.1 Graphing Parabolas and Vertical Shifts. We looked at the properties of a parabola and how to graph the basic parabola. We then looked at transforming the graph by moving it vertically.
