Assignment: #1,2,4-6,8-12,14,15
Today in class we covered more examples from 2.4 Applications of Quadratic Functions. In these example the equation was not given and therefore we needed to derive the equation from the given information. Students were also given an assignment on graphing parabolas in general form. This should be completed for homework and handed in tomorrow. Here is the graphing assignment general_to_standard.docx
Assignment: #1,2,4-6,8-12,14,15 Today in class we looked at 2.4 Solving Min/Max Problems. We did an example with an equation already given. On Monday we will continue this topic and do examples where no equation is given.
Assignment: #1,2,4-6,8-12,14,15 This will also be assigned on Monday. Today in class we covered 2.3 Vertex of a Parabola in which we completed the square on y=ax^2+bx+c to develop the vertex formula.
Assignment: #1,(3,5)eol Students also wrote a quiz on finding the equation of a parabola. Today in class we went over section 2.2 Converting from General Form to Standard Form. Students learned how to complete the square.
Assignment: #(1-3)sample, (4-6)eol, 13 Today in class we wrote the Chapter 1 Factoring and Quadratic Functions Test. Tomorrow we will learn about converting from one form of a quadratic function to another.
