Today we started class by doing an Arithmetic Operations on RE Worksheet. This assignment had 4 questions, one for each arithmetic operation. We then went on to 2.4 Mixed Operations on RE. In this section we reviewed Order of Operations to do questions with more than 1 step.
Assignment: p. 94 #1 acegi, 2 acgi, 4 Students were also given an RE Arithmetic Worksheet that has questions with multiple steps. Today in class we covered both 2.2 Multiplying and Dividing RE and 2.3 Adding and Subtracting RE. We reviewed how to do arithmetic with fractions in order to simplify RE using arithmetic.

For the remainder of class, students wrote their Ch. 1 Factoring and Radicals Test. Today in class we went over 2.1 Properties of Rational Expressions. We looked at the definition of a RE and how to determine the restriction on the variable. We also reviewed simplifying fractions so that we can simplify RE.
Assignment: p. 72 #2 a, 3 abcdeh, 4 abce, 5 acegikqsuw, 8 In the second half of class, we went over the Ch. 1 Factoring and Radicals Test outline. The students will be writing the test tomorrow. Students were than given time to either study for the test or complete homework from chapter 2. Today in class we finished off Chapter 1 by going over 1.7 Solving Radical Equations. We learned how to remove a radical from around a variable so that we could solve the equation. It was emphasized that studnts must check their solutions for extraneous roots.

In the second half of class, students worked on previously assigned work, or 1.8 Chapter Review. Assignment: p. 63 #1 - 4, 7 - 12 Today in class we went over 1.6 Multiplying and Dividing Radicals. We used properties of radicals to multiply radicals and to rationalize the denominator.

Today in class we went over 1.4 Simplifying Radicals. We reviewed the definition and vocabulary of radicals. We also reviewed the process of simplifying radicals in 2 methods.

We looked at how we can combine 2 like radicals into a single radical. Assignment: p. 2, 5 every other letter, 6 ab, 7 abe, 10 ad Students were also given a Simplifying Radicals Worksheet and an Adding and Subtracting Radicals Worksheet to complete and hand in. Today in class we finished 1.2 Factoring ax^2+bx+c by looking at factoring Perfect Square Trinomials. We then did several examples of all factoring types mixed together. Students were given a Factoring Worksheet to complete and hand in.
