Assignment: p. 89 #1, 2, 3a, 4a, 5, 6abgh, (7-9) every other letter, 12 Today we went over 2.4 Removing Common Factors. This is the first lesson in factoring and a process that should be checked for in every factoring question.
Assignment: p. 82 #(1-6) every other letter, 7, 12 Students were also given a Polynomial Arithmetic Assignment to complete and hand in. Today we went over 2.2 Multiplying Polynomials.
Assignment: p. 76 #(1-3) every other letter, 4ab, 6a, 7a Today we went over 2.1 Polynomials. We learned definitions of many terms so that we can communicate efficiently. We reviewed multiplying monomials by polynomials.
Assignment: p. 66 #1, 2a-d, 3, 4a-f, 5a-f, 6a-d, 7acg, 8abde, 9a Today we went over the Ch. 1 Number Systems Test outline. The test will be written on Wednesday February 22. Students then worked on 1.7 Chapter Review questions.
Assignment: p. 58 #1-5, 8, 9a-h, 10a-f, 11a-d Today students wrote a Simplifying Radicals Quiz. When done, students worked on an optimization problem.
Today we went over 1.6 Simplifying Radicals.
Assignment: p. 52 #1acg, 2ac, 3acegi, 4aceg, 5a, 6a, 7a, 8ac, 9ac, 10ac, 11, 14 Today we continued working with 1.5 Exponent Laws. We looked at a few more examples of evaluating expressions involving powers. Students were then given an Exponent Laws Assignment to complete and hand in.
