Today students had a chance to complete their 5.5 Function Notation workbook assignment before working on a Function Notation Quiz. After completing both of these, students then worked on a Characteristics of Numbers Menu Task.
Assignment: p. 220 #1, 2 a-d, 3 a-d, 4, 7 a, 8 c, 9 a, 11, 12, 16, 17 Today we went over 5.5 Function Notation. This section introduces a method for writing equations that explicitly shows that the relation is a function.
Assignment: p. 220 #1, 2 a-d, 3 a-d, 4, 7 a, 8 c, 9 a, 11, 12, 16, 17 Today we covered 3.2 Functions. Students learned how to distinguish a function from a relation using the definition of a function and the Vertical Line Test.
Assignment: p. 123 #1, 3-8, 10, 12, 14 Today we finished our notes on 3.1 Relations by looking at more domain and range examples.
Assignment: p. 116 #1-3, (7-10) every other letter Students were also given a Domain and Range Worksheet to complete and hand in. Today we covered 3.1 Relations. We looked at different representations of relations. We also looked at how to describe the domain and range.
Assignment: p. 116 #1-3, (7-10) every other letter Today students worked on KenKen puzzles, the CEMC Problem of the Week, and studied for their Ch. 2 Polynomials Test, which they are writing tomorrow.
Today we went over the Ch. 2 Polynomials Test outline. The test will be written on Friday. Students then worked on the 3 hand in assignments - Classifying Polynomials, Polynomial Arithmetic, and Factoring - and 2.7 Chapter Review.
Assignment: p. 107 #1-8 Today in class we went over a summary of all the factoring techniques we learned. Students were then given a Factoring Worksheet to complete and hand in.
Today in class we finished our notes on 2.6 Special Factors by looking at Perfect Square Trinomials.
