In the second half of class, students wrote their Ch. 3/4 Linear Relations Test.
Today in class we did 4.3 Graphing Linear Relations. We used Slope-Intercept Form to graph a line quickly.
Assignment: p. 171 #1 abcdikmo, 2 abcdgh, 3, 4 bdfh, 5 b, 13 In the second half of class, students wrote their Ch. 3/4 Linear Relations Test. Today students had time to work on completing their hand in assignments and chapter review questions in order to prepare for the Ch. 3 Linear Relations Test which is being written on Monday.
Today in class we went over 4.1 Slope and 4.2 Rate of Change. These are both calculated the same way. Students worked on textbook questions as well as the assignments Slope Worksheet and Rate of Change Worksheet.
Assignment: p. 156 #1 - 4, 5 acegi p. 163 #2 - 6, 12 We also went over the Ch. 3/4 Linear Relations Test Outline. Students were given questions from the workbook to prepare for the test. Tomorrow's class will be a work period. Assignment: p.148 #1 - 7, 8 a, 10 b p. 188 #1 - 4, 7 p. 232 #18 a - d Today in class we looked at graphing relations. We went over 3.3 Graphing Linear Relations and 3.4 Graphing Non-Linear Relations. Students were given workbook questions and a Graphing Relations Worksheet.
Assignment: p. 133 #1, 2, 3 ace, 4 abcdghkl, 7, 9 p. 141 #1 acfgkmp Today in class we covered 3.2 Functions and 5.5 Function Notation. We learned how to tell if a relation is a function and how to represent a function using function notation.
Assignment: p. 123 #3, 6 - 8, 10, 14 p. 220 #1, 2 abcd, 3 abcd, 4, 11 abcd, 15 Group 1: Students should complete workbook questions from 3.1 Relations.
Group 2: We started today's class by going over 3.1 Relations. We reviewed the coordinate grid and different ways of expressing a relation. We also introduced the concept of domain and range. Assignment: p. 116 #1 - 3, (7 - 10) eol In the second half of class, students wrote their Ch. 2 Polynomials Test. This is a reminder that starting next week this class becomes the learning group. Students will attend class 5 days a week at the normal time in the afternoon. Group 1: We started today's class by going over 3.1 Relations. Group 2: Today in class we went over 2.5 Factoring ax^2+bx+c. We learned the "Trial and Error Method" which we developed from the "Tic Tac Toe Method" and the "Decomposition Method".
