Today we reviewed 4.1 Slope. We looked at finding the slope using the rise and run between two points and the slope formula. We also talked about how to determine from a graph whether the slope is positive, negative, zero, or undefined.
Assignment: p. 156 #1-4, 5acegi, 10 Today we started class with a Function Notation Assignment. When students finished their assignment, we went over 3.3 Graphing Linear Equations. We used a table of values to find 3 points and drew a straight line through the points.
Assignment: p. 133 #1, 2, 3ace, 4abcdghkl, 7, 9 Today we went over 3.4 Graphing Non Linear Equations. We used a table of values to generate a few points until we were confident we could accurately draw the graph. I encouraged students to download the DESMOS app on their phones to verify their graphs.
Assignment: p. 141 #1acfgkmp p. 147 #1 Today we went over 5.5 Function Notation. We saw how to use function notation to evaluate an equation for either x or y. We also saw how we can use a graph to evaluate a function by understanding that the notation f(a)=b is the point (a,b).
Assignment: p. 220 #1, 2a-d, 3a-d, 4, 7a, 8c, 9a, 11, 12, 16, 17 Today we went over 3.2 Functions. We discussed how to recognize when a relation is a function or a one to one function.
Assignment: p. 123 #1, 3-8, 10, 12, 14 Today we went over 3.1 Relations. We reviewed the coordinate grid and defined what a relation is. We also went over how to represent a relation in many ways. We also went over finding the domain and range in 4 ways.
Assignment: p. 116 #1-3, 7ac, 8ac, 9ac, 10acegikmo Today students had a chance to finish their hand in assignments and to study for their Ch. 2 Polynomials Test, which they are writing tomorrow.
